Kind of…
Time to move on from Vestmannaeyjar to points farther east. With a bit of driving (well Magnús driving) to do we kept the stops to a minimum. We did see some interesting places though the first being the Lava Centre in Hvolsvöllur. An educational exhibit it educates you on Volcanism and what it like to survive the various events that have occurred in Iceland over the past several hundred years. Great interactive exhibits which even entertained the teenager aka Syd. We also stopped at Seljalandsfoss, a waterfall that can be walked completely around. Very majestic, it serves as a reminder of the power of the flow of water. Really! Try standing behind the roaring flow and not gain some respect for water.
After reaching our hotel Magnús offered drop our bags and tour for a bit longer but with England v Croatia coming up in an hour how could we continue? The fairly empty hotel bar filled up quickly with interested viewers most of whom appeared to be rooting for England. Magnús told us yesterday he thought Croatia would take it and he turned out to be right. Til hamingju Magnús! He has also predicted Croatia to win it all so Sunday should be great. Nothing like FIFA in Europe!
